In June 2024 I observed a regression that caused Wayland -based compositors to stop working on one of my systems. Later that year, in October, I dedicated a weekend to see if I could figure out what went wrong and where.
A few years ago, I got into the habit of keeping thorough notes on projects I'm working on to make it easier for me to track my progress and jump between projects. I want to improve my technical writing, so I'm taking on a new project to turn these project notes into blog posts on this new website.
I've been spending more of my spare time in recent years studying the Linux source tree to try to build a deeper understanding of how computers work. As a result, I've started accumulating patches that fix issues with hardware I own. I decided to try upstreaming one of these patches to familiarize myself with the kernel development process.
